Steve was born on February 11, 1962 and went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2021. He was a man of much faith and he had an extreme devotion to his family and the military. He faced life with courage, intelligence, determination, and wit. Steve fought a long and hard battle with cancer. He survived three out of the four diagnosis.
Steve retired with miliary honors as a Sergeant First Class Army medic and a surgical technician. He than worked at St. Mary's and the VA Hospital as a surgical scrub technician for many years. He not only saved lives, but he made a positive impact on each and every life he touched. He was a husband, a father, a brother, a Knight, and a EMT. He was a proud graduate of Tucson High School and he continued to support his love for the Badgers throughout his life. Steve loved football (GO COWBOYS!), was a movie buff (including purchasing every concession stand snack known to mankind and sitting in the front rows), loved Disney and helping people. He also loved a good music playlist and he was a master jokester (even though many of his jokes were dad jokes, they always left a huge smile on your face).
Steve is survived by his wife, JoAnn Fimbres, daughter, Gina Fimbres-Leon Guerrero (Jessamyne Fimbres-Leon Guerrero), his son, Steven A. Fimbres, his siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Steve will be deeply missed by friends and family, but will be forever in all of our hearts. God Bless and Hoo-ah!
“Every day is a gift.”- Steve.
