How do you summarize a legacy of Life and Love in a few short paragraphs? A wife, and mother, and a Ya-Ya too, Terri Jane Harbsion lived a life full of Love to which others barely compare. Mom lived a life full of adventure. She let no fear or worry stop her and she never hesitated to create new memories. She lived a life for others where she truly was an example of being selfless and helping others.
Mom ( Terri Harbison) was someone who was so easy to become best friends with and never had any enemies. She loved to share that smile of hers that always radiated light and showed her love for her Jesus to others.
When it came to home life Mom was always a hands-on mom, she taught us the basics of the kitchen and loved to create the most random concoctions for cooking that always turned out amazing to eat. She was a wonderful cook and was always excited to try new recipes that my dad was always willing to try and be her best critic. It's something He is going to miss the most!
Mom and Dad meet in Highschool, they grew up together into adulthood when they were later married on May 4th, 1985, nearly 37 years they were married were high school love turned into forever life partners. Later on, Mom had Nicole and Vincent her surviving children where she dedicated the most passion and energy to raising us to be the best we can be in life and taught us how to be forgiving and passionate about whatever we choose in life. We are going to miss her warm embrace and her sarcastic ways with us when we didn't answer the phone right away.
Mom was my best friend, we went on girls trips and vacations with each other, random shopping trips where we would end up being gone all day long leaving dad to wonder where we wandered off to and she taught her granddaughter Sophia how to not care about rules and boundaries and to just take a leap of faith and live life to the fullest. Often times I was finding the two of them getting into some sort of mischief or trouble. Sophia had a Yaya who was always willing to do the most with her. Yaya always told Sophia "who cares" let's have fun! They both looked forward to their weekends together, always filled with walking the dog Sadie, doing some sort of random craft that was never finished, or dancing and singing in the living room. I spoke with mom over three times a day and I will forever miss the same conversations we had over and over again even if it was just to hear each other's voices. Thank you mom for being my best friend and for all the adventures we had.
You taught us Love and how to fight for the right thing, You gave us strength and taught us what it meant to have grace. Mom is more than just a memory she is our living presence. She is always with us, in the smell of the food she created, the perfume that she wore, and the kiss we always had on our cheek. She is the colors in the rainbow that shined the day she passed, she is the place we came from our first home, she is the map we follow every step we take from now on in life without her, she was our first love, our first friend, our mother, wife, and Yaya. Mom, we will love you eternally till we see you again and can be in your arms once more. Thank you for your unconditional love and smile. We love you!
