

Born on November 3rd, 1938, in Jefferson, Iowa, to the late John and Mabel Evans, Verna grew to live a full and dedicated life. She married her beloved husband, Howard D. Coil, on February 21st, 1955, sharing 70 loving years together.
Mrs. Coil dedicated her professional life to serving others, retiring as a food service supervisor from Colorado Springs School District Eight. Her work was a testament to her caring nature. In retirement, Mrs. Coil enjoyed traveling, visiting many parts of the world, and had a passion for cruising.
Verna's memory will be cherished and kept alive by her devoted husband, Howard D. Coil; her children, Daniel Coil, Debri Ranchhod, and Angela Peterie; her 15 adoring grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Evans, and sister, Kay Steventon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mabel Evans, and her beloved daughters, Julie Runkle and Penny Stewart.
Verna Jean Coil was laid to rest at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix on May 30th, 2025.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
