Vernon R. Grimes died September 12, 2012, at 97 years young. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary L. He is survived by sons Jimmy V. (Denise) of Tucson and Jack L. of Olympia, WA; grandchildren, Timothy (Kathy), Jimmy (Anjee), and Jaclyn; great-grandchildren Madeline, Rebecca and Nolan. Friends may attend visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012, at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2012, at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, with Rev. Paul Conner of Faith Tabernacle Church officiating. Interment to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Vernon's first love was his family and his love did not stop there. He loved his church of which he was an Elder. Some of his other loves were black walnut ice cream, Pecan Sandies, and Payday candy bars. He also enjoyed gardening and watching Walker Texas Ranger. Vernon, you will be missed by all.
