

Born in Leipzig, Germany on December 28, 1931. Waltraude was raised and schooled in a small village in the Black Forest Foothills of Bavaria in a rural farming environment. During her engagement to an American serviceman; She came to America on an Ocean Liner from Italy in 1953. She lived in Massachusetts, Del Rio, Texas; and finally to Tucson, Arizona in the summer of 1963, where she stayed until her passing. She now joins her loved and devoted husband Carl(1993), and middle step-son Louis(2017).
She is survived by her son David, step-sons John "Danny" (Sandy) and William "Ray" (Karen), 6 grandchildren, some great grandchildren, as well as many friends and family in Germany and across the world.
Waltraude lived her adult life as a devout catholic, she was the grand regent for "Catholic daughters of America". She spend much of her years volunteering by UPcycling clothes to return to families in need. She was an avid aluminium can collector. A hard days work was to leave no can unturned. As she collected cans, she would return cans and donate the proceeds. She knitted and crocheted many items that she was able to donate as well.
Waltraude loved to travel, she traveled many times to Germany with her son David and once with her son and grandson, which was a wonderful generational trip. She traveled to Jerusalem's Holy sites, to Egypt's pyramids, and Guatemala to see indigenous artifacts.
Waltraude was a devoted, dedicated, and excellent mother, dedicated member of her church, and a valuable member to society. Waltraude "The Stubborn German" who never asked for help, is deeply missed and loved by all who knew her.
