William Henry Harrison

William Henry "Bill" Harrison passed away on December 5, 2015, at his home in Tucson, AZ, after a nine-month battle with bladder cancer. He was born May 6, 1928, in Portland, Oregon. Bill was kind and generous, and he never met a stranger. Bill had a strong memory and was a great story teller, he also enjoyed traveling and could still tell you the best route to get anywhere. Bill is survived by his wife, Adeline "Addie" Gauthier; four children, Robin, David (David Yu), Denise and Darel (Tamie); five grandchildren, Brittney (Bo), Nicole, Luke, Mandi and Trey ; three great-grandchildren, Reid, Paige and Cade, His sister Dorothy Akin of Hood River OR , many nieces & nephews, Addie's children, Rene' (June) & Vicki (Randy). Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years , Barbara, who passed on December 9, 2001. Bill was deeply loved, and will be very much missed, by his entire family, all of whom kept in close contact with him. On the date of his passing, Bill and Addie celebrated their 131st-month wedding anniversary. Bill kept his legendary sense of humor to the very end. Close to his final day, he quipped to Addie that he looked forward to their anniversary, but that he "might not be up to taking her out to dinner." They would have celebrated 11 years together on January 5, 2016. Both widowed at the time they met, neither Bill nor Addie expected to find so much happiness in their later years. A memorial will be held Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 2pm at the Tucson Meadows Clubhouse, 2121 S. Pantano Road.
