William (Jeff) Lee Jeffries, 90, born February 8, 1924 passed away peacefully in his sleep the morning of September 20, 2014. Devoted husband to Wilma (Jean) Jeffries (deceased). Survived by sister Betty Ryder. Loving father to William (Bill) Jeffries (Lynn). Dear grandfather to William Troy (W.T.) (Michelle) Jeffries and Tera (Wesley) Landman. Great-grandfather to Bryant, William Alex and Wyatt Jeffries. Friend and mentor to many. Graduate of the University of Oklahoma, master’s degree in Economics class of ’51, WWII Veteran of the 82nd Airborne-4th class, appointed Director of Veteran’s Administration Hospitals by President L.B. Johnson in 1966. Jeff Jeffries spent nearly 20 years under this appointment. He was an active supporter of numerous charitable organizations. In his honor, his family will have a private service and memorial for him at sea. As he wished, he will rest in the Caribbean off the island of St. Thomas.
