She was born on October 17,1924 in Yakima, Washington to Carl and Martha Johnson.
She lived in Yakima for the first years of her life, then moved into Western Washington, ending up in Rainier. She graduated from Rainier High School in 1942. There she met Wayne Middleton and they were married that summer before he left for WWII. She lived in San Francisco during the war years, then returned and made a life long home in Rainier. They were happily married for 65 years.
Aggie spent many years raising her 3 children, but also had a career working as the district Secretary for Rainier School District. She retired after 25 years in 1986. Rainier friends often commented how much they loved working in the office with Aggie and how kind she was to them when they were kids in school.
Aggie was the heart of our family. She was always there for her children and grandchildren. She and Wayne were both loving and giving. Aggie was a fantastic cook and hosted all the family events for the holidays. She made it look so effortless and easy. She loved to decorate and always hosted Easter brunch, incredible Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, as well as many Midsummer meals and anniversary parties in their beautiful yard. She loved flowers and gardening. She was an avid reader and loved to sew and craft. She was good at canning fruit and made the best pickles. She loved her trips to the casino, especially Lincoln City.
Aggie and Wayne traveled all over the Western United States and Canada. They spent many years at their property on Hood Canal. She loved the beach. She also made two trips to Sweden, meeting over 75 of her cousins and saw the family home of her father. After that she hosted Swedish relatives 5 times and showed them our Washington home. As a good Swede, Aggie loved Coffee! Even during Covid Lock downs and her last night in the ER, she was still asking for coffee.
She spent the last 9 years living at Bonaventure of Lacey. The staff there was so kind and took good care of her. We wish to thank them for all the love and care they showed her in the last years.
Proceeding her in death were her parents, Carl and Martha Johnson, her beloved husband Wayne, her great grandson, Austin and her two sisters Edna Stevens and Anna May Anzalone. She is survived by her sons Gary Middleton, Darrell Middleton (Mary) and daughter Lynn Middleton Torrence(Terry). Aggie had 5 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, who all loved her dearly. She was a beautiful woman who will forever be in our hearts and truly missed.
