

Alfonso Santana was born in Elk Grove, CA on October 30, 1928. He passed on to Heaven on September 5, 2022. He was 93 years old. Al will be missed by his wife Joyce of 33 years and his children, Steve Santana, Mike (Debbie) Santana, Pete Santana, Joy (Mark) Miller and Melanie (Late Husband Ernie) Edwards and their seven Grandchildren, Kayla Quinn, Nicole (Andrew) Kernutt, Janei Santana, Ryan Miller, Emily Mathews, Emma Miller, Bobby Mathews and Great Grandchildren, Ellie Kernutt and Emerson Kernutt. His brother Joe Santana and all his beloved nieces and nephews.
Al retired after serving 31 years in the United States Navy as a Master Chief in the SEABEES, He was highly decorated and highly respected. Al went on to work for the Federal Government, for 19 years as the Director of Quality Assurance for two major military hospitals, The David Grant Medical Center at Travis AFB, Fairfield, CA and Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA. Al served our country for 50 years.
Al was a military man, a loving husband, a wonderful father and Grandfather. He loved his show cars, his motorcycles, mowing his huge lawn on his riding lawn mower and gardening with Joyce.
Al was a member of the Elks Lodge, The Moose Lodge, loved golf and Tiger Woods, a Champion Lightweight Boxer in the Navy, Future Farmers of America, A cowboy in his early years and actually went on a cattle drive riding his own horse. Al was a very proud man and took pride in everything that he accomplished throughout his life. He was a true Gentleman to Joyce and the love of her life.
