Dearest Lori and family, I just found out about this. My heart and prayers are with you all. I remember your daughter coming to the deli to see her mom. I remember her beautiful smile. If you ever need someone to talk too I am in the phone book. Sending my prayers.

I didn't know Amanda very long, but she was a very nice girl. She always had a smile on her face. I was a "new girl" at capital for about a week until I transfered. She always made me feel welcome! Made sure I had a friend and someone to talk to. I remembered my first day of school I walk into class and she was the first person to invite me to come and sit by her in history  class! Then she talked and talked with me. She always made sure to involve me in conversations and would always talk to me. she was always smiling and such a happy girl! She had touched my life! Just in that short moment. I wish I could of gotten to known her better. She was a great& loving person ! She was the only one that was nice and inviting when I went to capital. A true angle who would make anyone smile and feel welcome! I felt her love. I remember I told her I was leaving and she got a little sad and told me we had to keep in touch and made me promise to come and see at jamba juice. And I always did, sometime just to go and visit her. I didn't find out until late June that she had passed away :(  she will be truly missed ! I am so sorry for you loss. I am happy that I got to know her even if it was for a few days. my prayers are with you and your family!

She is loved and missed bye many and was a happy loving person now she lays to rest with God and he watches over her.

Layne, Lori, Carolyn, and family.  I'm so so sorry to hear of the loss of your beautiful daughter and granddaughter.  I happened to see information that popped up online today and checked to see if it was about the Winters who were our good friends and neighbors that we had so much fun with so many years ago.  I was so sad to read the news of Amanda's accident and your loss.  We too lost a grandchild at about the same age and know what a difficult time this is for you.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you that you may be comforted in the days ahead.

To Amanda's family, our hearts ache for your loss. We did not have the privilege to know Amanda personally. From some who did, it is clear she loved her family dearly, brought joy with a simple smile, and selflessly supported friends. An angel in heaven as she was on earth.

Lori and Layne- We never met, but my son Caleb was good friends with Amanda. I enjoyed every moment I got to spend with your wonderful daughter! She was beautiful, happy, polite, and above everything else a wonderful friend! I will miss her showing up and hanging out at our house. I am truly sorry for your loss, it just isn't fair! Amanda was one of the most amazing people i have ever met and she had the best laugh. She was just a happy person and when she talked to you, she had this way of making you feel special. My daughter, Kendall, was on the CHS drill team with Amanda. What a joy it was to know her! She had such an incredible smile and such a cheerful personality! A truly very special young woman. Our son Grant was a year behind Amanda at Griffin and Capital, and they played together in the bands at both schools.  She was a lovely young woman, and we will miss seeing her.

Tom and Peggy you probably don't remember us, but we knew you well when we lived in Olympia. We now live in Hilton Head, SC and have a grand daughter who is 17 and just got her drivers license Monday. Our daughters were JoLane and Julie Williams who went to Jefferson Middle School. You can't imagine how sad we were when we heard the news about your grand daughter. Our hearts go out to you and your family during this difficult time.

Dear Winters Family, I am so sorry for the loss of our sweet Amanda.  She was a beautiful light at Capital High School.   From making pretzels in the student store to playing rugby, everything she did, she gave it her all.  Please know that her Capital High School family loved her dearly. I didn't know Amanda but in high school I lost a close friend whom was almost 18 and right before graduation. I understand heartache and loss. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and one's whom care!

How do you describe a teen who has left us. She was a senior in high school, she had two loving and devoted parents who adored her, and like many 18 year olds she was looking towards a lifetime of experiences. She took the bull by the horns while enjoying and experiencing life as it was presented to her.  You will be missed greatly Amanda, for all the things you were and for all the things you could have become.

Your smile and laughter will be missed, what a woulderful person to be taken to soon.  My thought and paryers go out your family.

I first met Amanda at Ballet Arts where she and my daughter took ballet together as little girls. The girls then ended up dancing together for their High School Drill and Dance Team. Her Daddy was the only dad to participate in the dance routine with the moms at state competition.  I thought that was so cool.  She had an unforgetable smile and a warm spirit which will be sorely missed. My prayers are with her parents, and all who loved her.  Her life and death has touched so many people.

I watched our daughters grow together, into beautiful young women. Amanda was one of Jenna's first friends and Amanda became part of our family. I loved her personality, and individuality, she was kind and loving and a sister Jenna never had. Our whole family will miss her but she will always live in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all in this most difficult time.
