Ardell Degler

Ardell Degler, age 86, of Olympia, Washington passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 with her family by her side. Ardell was born to Ada and Percy Roulst in Centralia, WA on January 11, 1938. Ardell and her family moved to Olympia when she was a young girl. She graduated from Olympia High School.

Ardell will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend. Her family was everything to her. Ardell is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Larry, along with their two children, Lori (Ed) Strickland and Paul (Brenda) Degler. She took immense pride in her grandchildren Jesse (Thais), Mel (Garrett), Lindzie and Shani and great-grandchildren, Trace, Ashtyn, Kinley, Hadley, Colton, Alice and Mila.

Ardell had many jobs that taught her trades she used throughout her life, one being floral arranging. Ardell worked as a secretary for many places including Tenny Automotive, Motor Boat Mart, Arjac Yacht Brokerage and Pacific NW Bulkhead.

Ardell enjoyed many hobbies including cooking, gardening, crafting, boating, snow skiing, and spending time with family and friends. She and Larry were devoted members of the Olympia Outboard Club for 66 years. They loved to spend as much time as they could on the Puget Sound.

A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, February 7 at 1pm at Mills & Mills.
