

On December 13, 2017, Arthur F. Badillo passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side. Although our hearts are heavy, he is no longer in pain but is with our mom Rose and that is what gives us peace. He fought a long and hard battle with cancer but was always the stars in a midnight sky.
Art is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Felicia and Ronald Diaz, Marie and Bill Amendt, Esperanza Badillo-Diiorio and Wayne DiIorio, and Arlene and Tony Simon.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Arthur Diaz, Ariela Diaz, Ronald Diaz Jr., Matthew Diaz, Samantha Amendt, Carson Amendt, Allegra-Sophia Flores Badillo, Ameilla Badillo-DiIorio, Lorenzo DiIorio, Luciana Badillo-DiIorio, Stefano DiIorio, Hanford McCloud, Talia McCloud, Isabella McCloud, Charlie Simon, and Anthony Simon, and two great-grandchildren, Elena Diaz and Alejandro Santiago.
Arthur was born on October 11, 1945, in San Jose, California. His parents who passed before him, Fabian and Esperanza Badillo, siblings who passed before him, Mario Badillo, Helen Brotherton Pane, Amelia Badillo and is survived by his siblings, Robert Badillo, Eleanor Badillo, Alice Badillo-Cena, Eva Mestaz and Fabian Badillo Jr.
He graduated from Andrew P. Hill High School in San Jose, California
Arthur and Rose Badillo were married on December 25, 1965 and began their family the following year. Although from California, Art and Rose began their journey to Washington in 1980. Arthur attended San Jose State University and the Los Angeles Art Institute. He also attended SPSCC, Evergreen State College, Clover Park Technical institute.
Arthur was a painter by trade in the early days as well as worked for Hewlett Packard, Raytheon, the naval shipyards in Bremerton, Qwest, and Boeing. There was never a time when he wasn’t working. He wanted the best future for his family.
Arthur began working for the State Patrol on December 12, 2005 and celebrated 12 years the day before his passing.
Arthur was an amazing Dad, Papa, brother and friend to many. He had an extraordinary love for the arts; a painter, singer, dancer, architect, interior designer, engineer and loved to learn what he didn’t know. He had a passion for travel, history, opera and his favorite football team the 49ers. His devotion to his family was awe inspiring to many. As Prince Calef Giacorro Puccini’s opera Turandot had sang “Nessun Dorma”.
