

Barbara Ann (Mask) Ayres Our beloved mother Barbara Ann (Mask) Ayres, 81, passed peacefully on Thursday, December 10, 2015 in Olympia, WA surrounded by her children. She was born March 16, 1934, in Roswell, New Mexico to James Leland Mask and Nell Hewitt.
In 1954 she married Ted Ayres, moved to Hoquiam, WA, and together they raised 3 children: Rebecca Lorenzo, Cheryl Ayres and Jim Ayres. She dedicated herself to raising her family and worked many years in the Hoquiam school system before retiring and moving to Olympia with her husband to be closer to their kids.
An adventurous spirit, she loved to travel with family and friends and spend time boating on the Hood Canal. A unique soul and long known for her positive outlook on life, Barbara enjoyed singing with her choir group at local retirement and Alzheimer's homes. She was an active and dedicated member of the Aberdeen Pioneer Association and The Red Hat Society. Barbara will be remembered often and dearly missed.
She was predeceased by her husband. Beside her daughters and son, survivors include four grandsons, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. uneral services with reception to follow at Mills & Mills Funeral Home, Tumwater, WA, on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
