Suzi Gilbertson passed away at her home in Lacey, Washington on March 11 after a long illness.  

Suzi was born and raised in Raymond, Washington, graduating from high school in 1957.  Throughout her youth she was passionately interested in dance, and from an early age she took lessons and performed as a lead in annual recitals. 

After graduation, Suzi pursued her love and study of dance, performing and teaching while working in several cities.  In the late 1960s, she settled in Lacey, where she lived and worked until retirement.  Suzi was a partner in a dance studio, later establishing her own business as a dance teacher in Lacey.  Her students remember her with great affection.

Suzi was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Gil Gilbertson, parents, Clarence and Flora Lovering, brothers Bill and Bob Lovering, sisters Doris Waits and Donna Hayes, and her constant companion dog Bucko.  She is survived by her son Robert Kittleson, grandson Gunner  Kittleson, Tanya Lasmanis who she loved as a daughter, Hailey Lasmanis who always called Suzi grandma,  sister Kathleen Wegner, brother Howard Lovering and wife Peggy, many nieces and nephews, and her dog Jazzie.

Sister Susie and I were the youngest and were close as children. She was adored by mother Flora and father and close to all in the family. She and Gil were a fine couple.  Thankfully, I had a chance to share these thoughts with her and thank her for her care to others in our family.
