Bernice Bostic passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Northcliff Adult Family Home in Shelton at the age of 97.
She was born Bernice Marie Fuchs in Girard, Illinois. She married Clarence C. Bostic on October 22, 1942 in Langley Field, Virginia. They had 2 daughters, Janice McMann and Elizabeth Oergel. In 1958 they moved from Cantral, Illinois to Spokane, Washington. Later in 1962 they moved to Olympia, Washington. They opened one of the first coin-operated dry cleaning business in Tumwater and later a Laundromat and dry cleaner in Olympia. Bernice enjoyed sewing, knitting, jigsaw puzzles and work search puzzles. She sewed her clothes and school and special occasion clothes for her daughters.
Bernice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Olympia until she moved to Shelton in 1984. At that time she became a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church of Shelton. She was a member of the sewing club and Lydia Ruth Circle.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Fannie Fuchs; husband, Clarence; sisters, Lucille and Betty and brother, Donald; and son-in-law Dale McMann. She is survived by daughters, Janice McMann, and Elizabeth Oergel (Carl), grandsons, Eric McMann (Melissa), Troy Kelcher (Staci), and John Kelcher (Niquette); 5 great-grandsons and 1 great-grand daughter.
