Biagio "Joe" Joseph Sabella
September 26, 1930 – March 13, 2020
We are deeply saddened by the passing of our father, grandfather and devoted husband to his loving wife Theresa Sabella on March 13, 2020. Biagio Joseph Sabella was a man of great moral and an unmistakably true heart. A big personality, a man of integrity and artistic fancy he took up a room with his intensity and presence. His love of classical music was abounding, his favorite composer was Gustav Mahler and his favorite composition, the Symphony No. 2 known as the Resurrection. He was a lover of baseball and an avid Dodger fan, he also possessed a particular flair at the poker table. Born in the Bronx, New York on September 26, 1930 to Josephine DiZefalo. In 1952 he would marry his only sweetheart Theresa DiLisio in the Bronx, New York and later they would have five children together. 'Joe' joined the Airforce in 1950 as a butcher and would continue with an honorable discharge later in 1953. . He was stationed in Ipswich, England and resided in Felixstowe, England. Returned to the U.S. in 1953 and lived in Bronx where he and his wife had their first child Elisabeth Sabella born in 1954, during that time he was hired for IBM as a Systems Analyst where they resided in Poughkeepsie , New York and would have their second child Robert Sabella. Later they relocated to Harrisburg , Pennsylvania with IBM and resided in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania. Kathleen Sabella their third child was born in Harrisburg in 1959 along with their fourth child Christine Sabella born in 1961. Virginia would be their next stop and the birth of their fifth child Maria Sabella born in 1965. Later he would move together with his family to North Carolina with IBM Research Triangle. His indispensable talent as a Systems Analyst brought them to relocate with IBM to Perth Australia for some years where he could enjoy his love of horse trotting and what would become his greatest respite, the ocean. Later he and his family would return to the United States and settle in Washington State. His grandchildren; Jordana,Gabriel, Judah, Havalah, Sara and Tao and his Great grandchildren, Rosabella, Cocobelle, Isabella, Luna Mae and Slade , he will be missed by all. The funeral will be held in Rochester, Washington at the Grand Mound Cemetery with military honors presented by the United States Airforce.
