

Billy (Bill) Mabry, 85, died June 1, 2016. He was born in 1931 in Pacolet, South Carolina, grew up there and graduated from college in Spartanburg, SC, before joining the service. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years with one tour in Japan working for the 5th Air Force Division and two tours in Vietnam before he retired from the service.
He then spent the next 22 years working for the Thurston County Medical Bureau before retiring again to enjoy life traveling and spending time with family.
He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner for over 50 years. He will be remembered by those who met him as a true southern gentleman.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Alice, two daughters Debbie (Mike) Long of Kennewick WA and Anita (Greg) Thomas of Juneau AK, and son Jeff Mabry of Olympia, a sister June Bryant of Spartanburg SC; seven grandchildren Heather, Krystal, Cody, Kris, Jed, Jessie, and Jennifer; and nine great-grandchildren.
At Bill’s request there will be no funeral service.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3101 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd, Portland Oregon 97239 in his memory.
