Bruce was born in Lubec, ME on December 15, 1949, to Robert and Evelyn Cox. He graduated from Lubec High School in 1968 and from there spent the next near 30 years in dedicated and distinguished service in the military. As a retired Army CSM, Bruce went on to further his education and graduated from St. Martin's University in 2001 with a BA (Magna Cum Laude). He later worked for the US Postal Service and finally went on to work for General Dynamics, where he spent the remainder of his working career until retiring officially in 2012.
Always ready and willing to lend a helping hand, Bruce spent his life showing his love for others through the volunteering of his time. Forever the hard worker, he believed not just in doing your part but doing your part and then some. Not only could he be counted on to give of his time, he also continually gave of his counsel, ready to dispense not just advice, but also encouragement, and if need be, wise admonition. He proved time and again to be a dependable rock to lean on.
Bruce was preceded in death by his sister, Marylyn Talbot. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Chong Hui; his eldest daughter Jennifer and her husband Brandon; his youngest daughter Rebecca; and his two cherished grandsons Micah and Ezra. He is also survived by his brother Fred C. Cox II and two sisters, Lynda Whittier and Cheryl Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews and countless dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, March 23, 2019, at Mills & Mills Funeral Home in Tumwater, WA with Reverend Yohan Son officiating.
