Carla Maxine Jackson

Carla Maxine Jackson was born in the Parish of Terrebonne on July 31, 1956 to the late Clarence Jules and Leola Carter Jules in Houma, Louisiana. She was the fourth of ten children. As a child, she enjoyed spending quality time with her grandmother, family and friends. Carla was first baptized at the New Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church at the age of 6 by the late Rev. Kermit Simmons, where she later became a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school treasurer and worked on the Pastor’s Aid Board.

Graduating from South Terrebonne High School in 1973, she earned a BA degree from Meadows Draughon Business College in New Orleans, LA. In addition, Carla received an AA degree in Medical Terminology from Personal Touch Business College, as well as a license in manicuring from Arnolds Beauty College.

Later in life Carla moved to San Jose, CA where she was baptized in the name of Jesus and received the Holy Ghost under the leadership of Pastor Mable Brinston in July of 1987. While there she served as the Pastor’s Aide. In 1991 she moved to Richmond, CA, and studied under the leadership of Rev. Connie McGee, serving as the Pastor’s Aide for 13 years. Shortly after, Carla married the love of her life, Andre W. Jackson in the year of 2003. Already a mother of four Carla became the mother of a total of eleven kids over night. Together they began to build the ministry of Carriage Hills Community Church.

On March 13, 2006 Carla was ordained as Pastor by Bishop Ernestine Cleveland-Reems of Center of Hope Community Church, Oakland, CA. Pastor Carla Jackson also served as the Pastor to Faith and Hope Outreach Ministry where Bishop Myrna Fuller is Overseer.

Pastor Carla Jackson has had the opportunity to preach in her hometown of Houma, LA at the Houma Christian Center, Pastor Reginald Jules of Houma, LA; His Lords House Of Worship, Pastor Greg Williams of Pinole, CA; Voices of Hope Community Church, Pastor Raymond E. Lankford of Oakland, CA; Breaking Bread Ministry, Pastor William Shaw of Seaside, CA; at the conference for ACLC in San Francisco, CA.; in Norfolk, VA, and Washington DC just to name a few. She was also a Co-Coordinator of ACLC Women in Ministry, Certified in Teaching Relationship Enhancement Courses, and is an Ambassador for Peace, recognized with the United Nations. In addition, Pastor Carla Jackson ministered abroad in South Korea, Canada and The Bahamas.

Carla Maxine Jackson was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Jules and mother, Leola Carter Jules. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Andre W. Jackson; daughters, LaTanya Jules of Lacey, WA; Tangynekia Jules of Rodeo, CA; Joselyn Jules of Richmond, CA; her son, Jeremy Jules of Richmond, CA; seven step-children; Kevin Miles, Ernest Miles, Andre Chairman Jackson, Shirdrea Jackson, Trinity Jackson, Anna Jackson and Sharon Jackson; eleven grandchildren; four sisters; five brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
