Carol Jean Ramsay was born in Tacoma, Washington to Alfred and Bonnie Jenkins on February 25, 1942. She passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on January 2, 2026, surrounded by her children. Carol was raised in Rainier, Washington and graduated from Rainier High School in 1960. Shortly after graduating she married her high school sweetheart, Maynard Ramsay. Together they raised four children, Carrie, Leasa, Jimmy and Julie, who meant everything to her. Carol worked for the North Thurston Public School district as a cook, where she served her way to students’ hearts for 25 years. In her free time, Carol enjoyed gardening, cooking, listening to Elvis music, going to the movies, cheering on the Seahawks and Mariners and having tea parties with her grandchildren. She loved traditions and spoiled her family each Valentine’s with homemade chocolate turtles, Easter with a jar of raspberry jam and Christmas with fruitcake. Most of all Carol loved being with her family and took every opportunity to gather together. Carol will be dearly missed by all that were lucky enough to know her.
She is survived by her children, Carrie Krier (Marshall), Leasa Fowler (Jeff), Jimmy Ramsay (Kay), and Julie Croy (David); her grandkids, Josh (Brittany), Jeffrey (Brigitte), Daniel (Natalie), Megan (Rick), Gabrielle (Adam), Sarah, Rachel (Ryan), David (Kelsey), and Abby; her great-grandkids, Kason, Easton, Charlotte, Lorelei, Delaney, Ruby, Allison, Kylie, Austin, Phoebe, Jackson, Hannah, James and Luke; and great-great grandson, Levi. Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Maynard; brother, Jerry (Cecilia); and sisters, Bonnie (Chuck) and Judi.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Sunday, January 18, 2026 @ 1:00 pm at the Jacob Smith House, 4500 Intelco Loop SE Lacey, WA 98503. All are welcome to attend.
