Carol Sullivan

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carol Sullivan, who passed away in August of 2026, at the age of 72. Carol was born in 1954, to Kasper and Florence, and built a life defined by family, generosity, service, and an unwavering desire to help those around her.

More than anything, Carol cherished her family and the time they spent together. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel cared for, whether through a thoughtful gift, a long conversation, a family gathering, or simply making sure everyone had something to eat. Time together mattered deeply to her. Carol wanted to see the people around her succeed and was always willing to offer encouragement, advice, or help when someone needed it. Carol especially treasured being a grandmother. She loved reading with her grandchildren, talking with them, taking them on trips, and simply being present in their lives.

She found tremendous joy in making the holidays special and memorable. She especially loved gexing at Easter, giving lots of presents at Christmas and having family gathered around the dinner table during Thanksgiving. She enjoyed beach trips, antique shops, Christmas stores, watching cooking shows, Seahawks football, and even stopping to visit Zoltar for a fortune.

Carol also leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of public service. She retired as Chief of the Information Management Division for the Department of Defense after 38 years. She possessed an exceptional technical mind and was known professionally for her meticulous attention to detail, careful planning, foresight, and ability to solve complex problems.

Carol is survived by her husband, Wayne; their three children, Marissa, Shannon and Shane; her seven beloved grandchildren; and her sister Sandy. Her family was her greatest source of pride, and the relationships she built with them were among the most meaningful accomplishments of her life.
