

Dallas Guilkey,91 Of Tumwater, formerly of Elma, died Friday, November 22,2013, at Olympics west Retirement Community. Mr Guilkey worked over 30 years for Mid Mountain Construction. He had worked on the Alaskan Pipeline. He was born on May 7,1922, in Noblesville Indiana to Arza and Orpha(Garverick)Guilkey. He was was married to Betty(Unum) Guilkey. She preceeded him in death. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, stationed on the Aleutian Island of Attu in Alaska. Being a member of the Masons, he recently became a lifetime member of the Tanana Lodge in Alaska. He found a hobby that he really enjoyed besides building several pieces of beautiful furniture. Mr. Guilkey never met a stranger. He was a senior companion and helped to deliver meals on wheels in Elma. He became a good friend to many and was always willing to help. He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Brule and Vicki Gearin,his 5 sisters,Phyllis Mendenhall,Barb Lawson,Pat Paskins,Ruth Stoops, and Harriet Wise. His grandchildren are Pfc.Nicholas Brule and Sarah Brule, Shaun and Katie Gearin. He also has many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers Roland, Max and Carrol Guilkey. Visitation will be Friday November 29th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Mills and Mills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Saturday November 30th at Mills and Funeral Home at 10:00am. Dale Amundsen will be officiating. A graveside service will follow.
