David is survived by his daughters Megan Budelman and Tiffany Carpenter; his sister Judy Bushell, all of Olympia, WA; and four beloved grandchildren: Ryann, Aidan, Miles and Zoe. He is preceded in death by his wife Susan and brother George.
David was born on March 11, 1940 in Spokane, WA to George W. Bushell and Kathryn (Spencer) Bushell. He graduated from Olympia High School in 1959 and joined the U.S. Air Force. In 1977, he married Susan D. Shugarts. They remained in Olympia, WA where they raised their family. David worked as a custodian for many years, retiring from the North Thurston School District in 2011. He will be fondly remembered for his welcoming smile, enjoyment of his many hobbies and his deep love for his grandchildren.
A memorial will take place on February 25 at 2:00 pm, at Mills and Mills Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate David’s life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the NW Chapter of the ALS association.
