She was born in Traverse City, Michigan, and spent much of her early life moving around the world as her father served in the U.S. Army. These experiences gave her a deep appreciation for family, community, and resilience.
While living in Louisville, Kentucky, Deanna met the love of her life, William C. Morgan (Bill). They married and, in 1985, moved together to Olympia, Washington, where they built a life centered on love, family and service. She was a caring mother to two children, Japheth M. Morgan and Jeana M. Wadsworth (Ryan), and a proud grandmother to Syrus M. Morgan-Wold, who brought her immense joy.
Deanna dedicated much of her professional life to public service, working for the state of Washington with the Department of Health and the Department of Ecology. She was respected by her colleagues and remembered for her kindness, diligence, and commitment to helping others.
Deanna’s greatest pride was her family, and she will be remembered as a loving wife, caring, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her warmth, strength, and compassion touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, William (Bill); her children Japheth and Jeana; her grandson, Syrus; and many extended family members and friends.
