

Dorothy R. Crissman Higgins, 88, passed away at her home in Olympia, Washington on September 12, 2025. She was born February 20, 1937 in Port Orchard, Washington to George and Maxine Allen. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, George and Ann Allen, her daughters, Patrice Huck (Robert), Michelle Hernandez (Charlie), Gerelle Kerwin (Timothy) and son, Roger Crissman (Theresa). Dorothy was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nephews and nieces, all of whom filled her heart with much love.
Her occupation in earlier years was as an elementary school secretary in San Antonio, Texas and Olympia, Washington. She was also an administrative assistant in the office of the Mayor of the City of Mesquite, Nevada. While in Mesquite she was heavily involved in the Mrs. Mesquite Pageant. She loved to crochet, read and gamble on her phone. Dancing with her daughters was always a favorite of hers. She loved football, especially quarterbacks. She was a long-standing member of the elite “Best Club” (you know who you are ladies) and they will serve as her honorary pallbearers.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Mills and Mills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 5725 Littlerock Road SW, Tumwater, Washington 98512. Reception will follow at 9530 Johnson Pt. Road, NE, Olympia, Washington.
