Earl attended East Olympia school through 8th grade and was milking cows before school. Earl later worked at a logging camp in Bordeox, Washington. He joined the Merchant Marines in 1943 and later transferred to the Army and served until 1951 followed with 5 years in the reserves.
Earl had several different jobs: driving logging trucks, school bus driving and milking cows.
He married Beverly Phelps December 20, 1952. At that time he was working in the Olympia plywood plant and went to school in the evenings to learn how to repair T.V.'s and radios. He opened up his business from his home and later moved the business to Scott Lake adding a small grocery store. After 26 years of TV repair he sold his business and worked a short time for Thermal Systems and then went to work in the seed orchard on 93rd until retirement.
His parents, younger brother Robert (Bob), sister Margie and 3 grandchildren preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife Beverly, 5 children; Wesley, Darla (Burkett), Judy (Sutmiller), Timothy and William "Bill". He also has 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Earl loved the Lord, believed in the Bible and sharing the gospel.
His Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 1:30pm at the Maytown Assembly of God, 2920 Tierney St. SW Olympia Washington(Exit 95 from I-5).
