

Mrs. Nelson was born October 22, 1919, in Tenino, Washington, to Homer and Elsie Doris Neeley.
She moved to the Yelm area in 1926 and continued to live there until her passing. On August 10,1940, she married Earl W. Nelson. Approximately a year later they made their home on Solberg Road in Yelm where she continued to live after his passing on December 24,1991. On December 1, 2009 she moved to the Rosemont Assisted Living Community in Yelm.
Mrs. Nelson worked for Todd Shipyards in Tacoma during World War II, and later for Beckendorf Poultry of Yelm and Pederson Poultry of Parkland. She balanced outside working with work on the family dairy farm and most of all, being a terrific mother.
She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed traveling, motorcycling, visiting with people and helping others during their time of need. She did beautiful embroidery work and took great pleasure in giving such to others.
Surviving are her son Stan Nelson (Laurie) of Clarkston, Washington, daughter Darlene Johnston and grandson David of Mountlake Terrace, Washington, and daughter Bj Sullivan (Reggie) of Hillsboro, Oregon. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Mrs. Clara Neeley of Olympia, and two dear cousins, Mrs. Mary Lou Matz of Centralia, and Bob Diamond (Barbara) of Rainier, and numerous nieces and nephews all in Washington and a wonderful extended family in Wisconsin.
The Reverend James Braun will officiate for the funeral service on August 7, 2010 at 10 am, located at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Yelm, Washington private interment will follow a the Yelm Cemetery.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be directed to Providence Sound Home Care and Hospice, 3432 South Bay Road NE, Olympia, WA 98506. Visitation will follow the service in the church social hall. Private internment will follow at the Yelm Cemetery.
