

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Esther Lizama Bordner, who left this world peacefully in her sleep on November 18, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on January 21, 1938, in Hagnata, Guam, Esther lived a life rich with love, resilience, and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone around her.
Esther was the cherished daughter of Carlos Flores Taitano and Joaquina Crisostimo Lizama, as well as Florencia Flores Taitano, and Facunado Diego Borha Garrido. She was also deeply connected to those who survived her including her beloved siblings, Rosita Lizama, Jose Lizama, and Consepcion Lizama. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert William Bordner, siblings; Carlos Lizama, Juan Lizama, and Frank Lizama, whose memories she held close to her heart.
In 1958, Esther embarked on a new journey when she married her beloved husband in California. Together, they built a beautiful family that became the cornerstone of her life. Esther is survived by her devoted children, Elizabeth Bordner, Robert Bordner, and Steve Bordner, who were her pride and joy. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren (8): Ricci, Toni, Brian, Erin, Erica, Andrea, Robert, and Carla. In addition, she was a delighted great-grandmother to (15): Kale, Sage, Kaden, Anna, Cash, Ashlee, Jersey, Jada, Chanel, Jaxon, Madison, Brooklyn, Parker, Luci, and William, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She was always eager to hear of the successes and adventures of all, and had the best advice when life dealt lessons.
Esther’s life was marked by her dedication to nursing, having earned her Nursing degree from St. Martin’s University. Her compassion and care for others were evident in every aspect of her life. She served in the Navy from 1957 to 1959, a chapter of her life that she held with pride.
She had a unique style that was unmistakable—always seen wearing her signature bucket hats and silk nightgowns, a reflection of her vibrant personality. Esther had a gift for making those around her feel special, and she often expressed her love through thoughtful gestures and complete honesty, creating unforgettable memories for all who had the pleasure of knowing her. When she wasn’t cooking or reading, you could find her deep in her garden.
Esther's family and friends will remember her as a person of strength, kindness, and unwavering support. Her cooking, laughter, and warmth will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
