

EVERETT LAKE
Everett Allen Lake Jr. was born to Everett A. Sr. and Dorothy M. (Riggs) Lake in Buffalo, WY on November 28, 1933. He moved to Hayden Lake, ID Prior to grade school and spent his school years in Hayden Lake and Coeur d’Alene, ID
He graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1952 and graduated from North Idaho Junior College in 1956 Majoring in Accounting. He married Patricia Ann Arfsten on September 10, 1955. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the summer of 1956 he spent two years at FT. Lewis, WA. He then attended St. Martins College and graduated in 1961 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Business.
He worked for Thurston County Federal Savings and Loan (Heritage Federal Savings & Loan - now Heritage Bank) for 28 years in many capacities. He started Lake Appraisal Company in 1987 and found this to be successful and rewarding.
He volunteered and served as Treasurer for the Thurston County Fair Board, the Lacey Chamber of Commerce and the Local Senior Center. He was a past President of the South Sound chapter of the Appraisal Institute. He was on the Board of the Church of the Nazarene. In recent years he was an inactive member of the Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed helping people, all sports, and was an avid golfer. He golfed 6 holes on his 90th birthday.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia, who passed away in January 2026; and his daughter, Lori (Lake) Simmons, who passed away in 2004.
He is survived by his son, Alan Lake of Tumwater, Washington; his grandchildren, Devin Lake and Ashley Lake, both of Meridian, Idaho, Stephanie (Simmons) Oviatt of Nampa, Idaho, and Christopher Simmons of Lake Stevens, Washington; and his great-grandchildren, Hunter, Elayna, and Wynter Oviatt.
PATRICIA LAKE
Patricia Ann (Arfsten) Lake was born to Jacob Gerhard and Shirley Ann (Lloyd) Arfsten in Sacramento, CA on September 7, 1937. She attended school in California and spent some time with her grandparents and her father in Idaho during her summer breaks. In her senior year of high school she moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and received her High School Diploma while attending her Freshman year at North Idaho Junior College.
She married Everett A. Lake Jr. on September 10, 1955. They moved to Olympia during the fall of 1956 when Everett was drafted into the U.S. Army.
She worked for a CPA in Idaho, the State of Washington Insurance Commissioner's Office for nearly 10 years, Lacey Community Church for nearly 17 years, and Co-owned Lake Appraisal for many years.
She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, reading, and her home. She also enjoyed fashion, garage, and estate sales.
She was an inactive member of the Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori (Lake) Simmons, who passed away in 2004.
