Frieda Bennett Brooks, born September 29, 1940, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024. She lived a life of helping others as a social worker, first with St. Agnes Hospital Home Health in Fresno, California and with Clovis Community Cancer Center (now Institute) from 2001 until her retirement in 2012.
She deeply loved coordinating the Navigator's program, pairing cancer survivors with patients undergoing treatment.
She passed along her passion for mystery novels, medieval history, and classic movies to her daughter Kirstin Etherage, and her gifts for creating stories and sketching fantastical characters flourish in her dearly loved grandson, David Etherage. Frieda was quick to see the beauty in all things, especially the people in her life.
Frieda was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly McCrain and husband, James "Scotty" Brooks.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 6 at 1 p.m. at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair in Fresno, CA.
