She was a Baptist and a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas where she taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir. She was a homemaker. She moved from Pine Bluff to Cary, North Carolina in 2005, and then to Tumwater, Washington in 2014.
On October 24,1942 she married William Charles McRae Sr., who preceded her in death on July 6,1999. Gatha has two children, William Charles McRae Jr. (Janie) of Tumwater, Washington, and Elizabeth Ann Dixon, of Little Elm, Texas; two grandchildren, Jennifer Koeppen (Steve) and Stacey McRae (Chad Scheer) and five great grandchildren, Hunter and Seraphine Scheer, Chase, Macie, and Landon Koeppen.
Gatha is survived by her brother, Gerald Majors (Sue) of Whitehall, Arkansas and her sister, Sherry Perry (John) of Little Rock, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Weaver (Pete) Majors Sr., William (Sam) Majors, Charles Elston Majors, and Dale Majors, and three sisters, Bernice Sullivan, Alene Erwin, and Maxine Reddell.
