

Gene LeRoy Crosby
February 3rd, 1948 - September 25th, 2016
Gene L. Crosby, age 68, passed away peacefully at his home in Rainier, Washington. Gene was married for 43 wonderful, loving, and devoted years to his wife Recille, who passed away December 15th, 2012. Gene was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on February 3rd, 1948 to Arvil and Violet Crosby. Like his father before him, Gene served his country in time of war, becoming an honored Vietnam War veteran and also spending time stationed in Korea.
In dedication to a lifelong passion for education, Gene completed three college degrees. The first an A.A Degree from Whatcom Community College, followed by a B.S degree from Western Washington State College, and lastly he earned a Masters of Education degree from Western Washington University.
After many years as an educator, he retired from Pierce College and Central Texas College in Killeen, Texas. Gene was also the proud owner and manager of Crosby Properties. Gene is survived by four siblings; Danny Crosby, Dale Crosby, Jackie Crosby and Barbara Chadwick; ten nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Gene had many hobbies such as boating, camping, shooting, traveling, reading, attending car shows and above all spending time with family and friends. He was also an active member of such clubs as the National Rifle Association, the Rainier Chapter of The American Legion and the American Contract Bridge League. A caring, compassionate, and generous man his life has touched many and he will be missed by countless.
A Celebration of Life and graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, October 7th, 2016 at Mills & Mills Funeral Home on Littlerock Road in Tumwater, Washington.
