As a teenager Glenn was a member of the Sea Explorer Scouts, upon graduation from Federal Way High School he enlisted in the United States Navy. After his discharge from the Navy he returned to Seattle where he met and married his wife of 50 years, Mary Lee.
His greatest joy in life came from his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, patient and caring. He celebrated his 50th anniversary with his wife Mary Lee earlier this summer and thought it was funny because nobody gave them 3 months when they married. He took great pleasure in proving everyone wrong.
He was an amazing dad, always there for his kids. The only time that required silence in our home was when he was watching the TV show Kung Fu – or the Quiet Hour – as he named it.
He was a baseball coach, Boy Scout Troop Leader, very loud soccer dad and watched Headbangers Ball on MTV with his kids and their friends.
He passed his love of Harley’s to his son, Glenn Jr. The 2 of them spent countless hours talking about and working on motorcycles together. He marveled at his son’s mechanical abilities and was very proud of him.
To his daughter Lisa he was a hero. A relentless and vocal supporter. To her he imparted his love for their heritage, music and his fighting Irish spirit.
The apple of his eye was his beloved granddaughter Katriana. They celebrated their birthdays together and shared a love of the movie the Godfather, both knowing every word of the movie. When she was little he enjoyed taking her to movies, playing miniature golf, playing card games and board games and when she visited him at work. He will forever be her PopPop.
Glenn was a master leather artist, winning several ribbons over the years at the Washington State Fair. He was most proud of the Grand Champion Ribbon that he was awarded for the saddle that he built.
Glenn was a member of a local motorcycle club and enjoyed the comradery of his friends that he rode with. He loved the freedom that he felt while riding his Harley.
He looked forward to his annual road trip to Reno with his wife, brother in law Rick and sister in law Jenny. The gambling wasn’t always good but he always had fun on those trips. He enjoyed talking with Rick and seeing the scenery while listening to the oldies station.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sharon, and 2 sisters in law, Jenny and Cindy.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lee, son Glenn Jr. (Judy), daughter Lisa and granddaughter Katriana. He also leaves his step-grandsons, Dylan and Zak, his uncle Bill (Doris), sisters Charlotte (Merle), Ruth (Harry), brother Ernest Jr. (Patsy), brothers in law Bill (Mary Jean), Rick (Gayle), sister in law Lindy (Dan) and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
