Irene went to Nursing school in Columbus, Ohio until May of 1944 when she went to Longbeach, California for a friends wedding and decided to stay. She met George A. Ellis and they were married December 17, 1945 they were married 50 years. They loved to travel and lived in many places, but, Washington, was always home. George passed away February 1996. T
They had one daughter Georgann, son in law Darwin, Grandson Chris and 3 Great Grandchildren Whitney, Riley and C.J.
Irene was a nurse for 40 years specializing in pediatrics. She had many interests and was always supportive of her Grandsons sporting activities. In her later years she enjoyed crocheting and visiting with friends and family.
