James D. Steuby, 99, of Seattle, Washington, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018. He was born in Pierce County, Washington on August 16, 1918. Jim attended and graduated from Lincoln High School and received a Bachelor of Arts from Seattle Business School. He married the love of his life, Stella, on December 31, 1941. Jim joined the United States Army in 1943, he fought in the European theater of World War II, and was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant in 1946.
Jim had a career in finance as a Chief Accountant for the City of Olympia. He also worked as an accountant for Thurston County, Saint Martin’s University, and Boeing. He was a member of the 32 Degree Masons – Scottish Rite. Jim was passionate about his faith in The Lord and he enjoyed singing to others.
Jim and Stella were married for 59 years until her passing in 2000. Jim is survived by his sons, James, Scott, and Jeff; grandchildren, Wayne, Angela, Chad, Samantha, Brad, Joe, Maya, and Mason; and his nieces, Anita and Jean.
Jim will be laid to rest with his wife, Stella, at 11:30am, Friday, August 24, 2018, at Abbey View Memorial Park in Brier, Washington. Military Funeral Honors presented by the United States Army.
