Jan Louise Meyers, aged 65, a kind and loving Mother, Grandmother, and Sister went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 15, 2015. Jan passed peacefully at home surrounded by family and love. She was born November 19, 1949, in Mechanicsburg, PA, the daughter of Niles I. and Jean L. Meyers.
Jan graduated from St. Placid High School for Girls in Olympia in 1967 and attended Yakima Valley Jr. College. She worked various positions with Washington State Department of Transportation for 30 years until retiring in 2004. Jan was involved in her community very much. She volunteered with Capital Lakefair for over 30 years. She loved to see the sights and parades of Washington State and cherished the friendships she made along the way.
Jan enjoyed reading, crocheting, needlework, and “Running Away” as she put it, to (Red Wind Casino). But the joy of her life was her son and grand-daughters. She was an amazing mother that always did her best and gave her best to Brian. The love she has for her son is like no other, she raised a boy into a man and a perfect gentleman. Her loving and special ways with her grand-daughters was incredible; Grandma Jan never said no but instead gave a wink and said “later”, then flashing her grin. She was always there for them to comfort, to help, and to cheer on. She and her sister Cindi were truly best friends. Jan was always the quiet one while Cindi was always talking. They complemented each other by Jan wanting to make Cindi “stop and think”, but Cindi always saying “lets get it done”. Her quiet presence will truly be missed.
Jan is survived by her only Son Brian I. Palmer and wife Jamie of Lacey, WA. Her two grand-daughters Trinity and Emeory; Sister Cindi Kirchmeier of Olympia, WA; Joanne Sadler (James) of Elizabethtown, PA; Uncle Donald Meyers (Joanne) of Fort Myers, FL; Cousins Chad Meyers (Shey) of AZ and Jeff Meyers (Jaime) of GA. She is preceded in death by her parents Niles and Jean Meyers. Grandparents Clyde and Anna Jones, and her Grandmother Sara McGann (Henry).
