Jean Adelle Fossett

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Leona Roush; sister, Jeanette Abshire; youngest son Jamie Fossett; and her husband of more than 60 years, Clyde (Mike) Fossett.

Jean is survived by her eldest son Jeff (Diane) Fossett; Grandchildren Keirston (Mike) Henry, Westley (Robin) Fossett, and Alicia (Cheyenne) Voorhies; Great Grandchildren Noah Voorhies, Emily Henry, Brynlee Fossett, and Baby Fossett (expected to arrive October 16, 2026); and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jean was born in Centralia, on October 8, 1940, to Richard and Leona Roush, and was accompanied by her twin sister Jeanette. The two inseparable girls grew up enjoying farm life and were quite the pair, known as Rat and Mouse.

After Jean graduated from Centralia High School, she worked at Yard Birds in Chehalis where she met Mike. Mike and Jean were later married on August 26, 1961. They purchased a new home in 1968 in Olympia, where they raised their two wonderful sons and provided them with the most amazing childhood and upbringing two siblings could ever be blessed with.

Jean loved her home and was completely content taking care of her family, house, many pets, and tending to her English garden. When Jean became a grandmother, she doated on the grandkids as much as she did her own children, if not more. She never missed her grandchildren’s activities; whether piano recitals, school awards, or motocross races, she was always excited for their achievements.

Jean worked at the neighborhood store and volunteered at the PTA. She loved holidays and birthdays and always made them special. Jean put others first without hesitation. But, if you took advantage of her, BAM, she’d let you have it. Jean’s favorite saying was “Give you an inch, you will take a mile”.

Jean loved to visit with family and friends. She looked forward to gatherings just to sit and visit with all. Those lucky enough to have visited with Jean would forever remember her.

Grave side services will be held at Claquato Cemetery, 142 Stearns Road, Chehalis, Washington 98532, at 11:00 a.m. The family will be there to welcome friends and relatives.

Jean loved living and her body failed her way before her mind.

Jean will be sorely missed.
