Jeffrey Allen Yates

Jeff attended Tumwater and Yelm Schools. Jeff liked playing football when he was in school.

Jeff passed away November 23, 2024 in Olympia, Washington after a very brief illness.

He was blessed with a son Jeffrey Bo Yates. He was proud to have a son and loved being a great dad, friend and mentor to him. He was also stepfather to Taci Badger and Jonatan Sren.

Jeff loved to tinker on old cars and equipment. He also truly enjoyed floats on the Nisqually River, it was a happy place for him.

He was always at the barbeque at family gatherings, we are sure going to miss his smile when he said it’s ready!

Jeff worked for Wilcox for many years with the dairy and egg production. He decided it was time for a change, and earned his CDL license and started working for Amerigas, and most recently Acme Propane as a delivery driver. He really liked the opportunity to drive around and see the area.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father Eli Yates and brother John Yates.

Jeff is survived by his son, Jeffrey Bo Yates, mother Helen Yates, stepmother Joene Yates, sister and husband Kim & Chris Piotrowski, sister and husband Crystal & Joe Kuhn, brother Eli Yates. He also was uncle to Jessica Thurber, Zack & Samantha Thurber, Bonnie Jo Connelly, Danny Yates, Chase Young, Kaylee Young, Destiny Young.

Jeff was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends, something we will truly miss.

In lieu of flowers the family would suggest a donation to the American Diabetes Association in his name.

There will not be a service but a family gathering in the summer of 2025.
