Jessie Lee Leavell

Jessie L. Leavell Passed away on October 12, 2015 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her sibling’s sister Mary Nance of Seattle and a brother Charles Roan (Cathy) of Sumner. Her two daughters Kathleen Linse ( Tom) of Olympia and Susie Leavell of Tumwater and her grandchildren Kristin Liley of Wenatchee, Ethan Leavell of Auburn and Sydney Leavell of Tumwater, Jean Prosio (Joel) of California, Jackie Menger (Damon) of Maple Valley and two great-grand-children.

Jessie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend who always put everyone before herself especially when it came to spoiling her grandkids.

She was an avid reader, knitter and QVC shopper who also loved to play games, with a fondness for card games especially bridge. She looked forward to her casino outings with her sister Mary and daughters Kathy and Sue, but could often be found in the kitchen cooking. She had a special gift and passion for desserts and was well known to the local athletic teams for her delicious brownies. Birthday and family get-to-gathers were special and always involved her chocolate cake with caramel frosting.

Jessie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She could always be counted on for her witty and sometimes sarcastic remarks, sense of humor, laughter and smile which always brought joy to those around her. She was accepting of everyone and had many who called her mom.

She could always be counted on for a batch of late night nachos paired with a competitive game of Uno. She will forever be remembered by these words “Uno what time it is?”
