Joel F. Gould Jr. was born in Seattle to Joel F Gould Sr. and Linda Garrison Gould. Joel graduated from Olympia High School in 1949 and went on to earn a B.A. at the University of Washington and a M.A. at Pacific Lutheran University. He was a long time employee of Puget Sound Power and Light heading the company's Southern Division and later a region composed of the Southern, Western and South Central Divisions. He was also a retired U.S. Army Reserve field artillery commissioned officer. Both before and after his retirement, Joel was an active volunteer in many community activities.
Survivors include his long time beloved companion Leticia F. Dean, his son Richard (Linda) Gould of Eugene, daughter Karyn (Alan) Abrahamson of Olympia, and his sister Irene Van Arnam of Lakewood.
At the deceased's request there will be no services. His immediate loved ones will hold a memorial gathering.
