Reinhard and Kris Larisch were together for nearly 48 years. They married in 1982 and died five days apart, Reinhard after suffering a stroke and Kris after courageously battling cancer. Their lives revolved around each other.
Reinhard Larisch was born in Rostock, Germany to Georg and Elisabeth (Zimmerman) Larisch. As a young man, Reinhard moved to America and became an auto mechanic. In 1968, he opened the German Car Service on Martin Way and worked tirelessly for 47 years. Reinhard loved being outdoors whether playing soccer or working in the garden.
Kristin (Hahn) Larisch was born in Olympia to Paul and Helen (Clausen) Hahn. She attended Olympia High School (‘69) and Central Washington College. She worked at German Car Service for many years supporting Reinhard. Kris was gracious, fun and loved to host family gatherings.
Together, they loved flowers and gardening, annual trips to Puerto Vallarta, and staying active and fit. For many years, they enjoyed entertaining and spending countless hours on their boat. They treasured their trip to Germany to reunite with family. They loved their dogs and Missy has been a part of their family for 12 years.
They are survived by Reinhard’s children, Andrea and Michael, granddaughter Chantal, their siblings, Wolfgang (Renate), Eva, Mark (Katy) and Brian; stepbrothers, Bob, Don and Matt (Patti); four great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. They are preceded in death by their parents and Kris’s stepmom, Delores Hahn.
Their memorial service will be graveside on Friday, Aug. 24 at 11 am with a reception to follow.
