Larry William DuChateau

He will be lovingly remembered by his children Michael Long (Theresa) of Clarkston, WA, Jacqueline Peer (Kurt) of Asotin, WA, Carrie Boese (Michael) of Anchorage, AK, and Jannie Bourne of Prineville, OR. Larry will also be fondly remembered by his 7 grandchildren: Chad Peer, Kylie Alford, Ciara Nixon, Kaden Peer, Karlee Bourne, Micaela, Ellie, and Teya Boese and 4 great grandchildren. Larry will also be greatly missed by his friend Gwen, Auntie May, his cousin Dave, as well as many other family members, friends, and neighbors.

Larry was preceded in death by his brother Fred, parents William and Dorothy, and sister Janice Edwards.

Larry was born May 15th , 1941 to Dorothy (Whykes) and William DuChateau of Enumclaw, WA. Larry graduated from North Thurston High School and Centralia Community College with an Associate Degree. He had a varied work history in his younger years: working on the family dairy farm, delivery driver, Boeing, and Weyerhaeuser. Larry found a job he loved with Olympia Brewing Company; he retired from there after 25 plus years of service in 1993. Being in the outdoors was where Larry felt happiest, even if it was in his own backyard. Larry enjoyed camping all over the whole state of Washington and was a proud member of the Wanderlust trailer club from the 70-90’s. Larry was also very involved in the United Singles, the Old Timers Club for previous members of the Olympia Brewing Company, and the Buckley Eagles. He enjoyed dancing, gardening, golfing, motorcycle and bike riding.

A Graveside Memorial Service will take place on September 25th, 2021 at 12 noon at Mills and Mills Memorial Park, 5725 Littlerock Road SW, Tumwater, WA 98512. A reception will take place following the memorial service at approximately 2 pm at Larry’s residence.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that charitable donations be made in Larry’s name to the Olympia Tumwater Foundation, American Heart Association or Puget Sound Blood Bank.
