

A life long resident of Black Lake passed away on October 14th., 2013.
She was born in a log cabin at Delphi on November 4th. 1911. She attended Black Lake School and graduated from Olympia High School.
She is survived by her brother Sid Lehman (Mert) of Selah, Washington.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years O.W. (Cotton) Jones, parents Herman and Emma ( Brown) Lehman, brothers and sister-in-laws Leo Lehman (Dorothy), Earl Lehman( Gladys), sisters and brother-in-laws, Vina Lambert Timmerman (Tim) and Norma Weber(John).
Survived by many loving nieces and nephews, who all looked forward to their birthday card with a dollar enclosed from "AUNT LILA", as well as many great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Lila and Cotton were married on November 11th., 1932. She lived in her home at Black Lake for 81 years.
She was a 58 year member of the Black Lake Grange, holding the office of Treasurer, she was a 6th Degree Golden Sheaf.
Lila retired from the State of Washington, serving at the Auditors Office and the Department of Commerce.
She was widely considered the Black Lake area historian. Lila had an uncanny ability to recall names, places, families and events.
Lila and Cotton were deeply involved in the start of the Black Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
Lila was a long time contributor to many charities and true to the way she lived she requested the bulk of her estate will go to Children's Orthopedic Hospital, Seattle; Mary Bridge Hospital and Health Center, Tacoma; and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle.
Lila will be deeply missed by her family and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to one of Lila's favorite charities or one of your choice.
Service will be at 11:00 A.M. November 4th. 2013 at the Mt. View Nazarene Church, 940 Israel Road S.W., Tumwater, Washington 98501.
Internment will follow at the Pioneer Cemetery on Delphi Road and a gathering/potluck will follow at the Black Lake Grange Hall.
