Lucille Rae Cooper was born Sept. 19, 1934 in Olympia to parents Charles and Mildred Barnes. She was a 3rd generation Olympian and grew up in Boston Harbor. Lucille passed away in her sleep on June 25, 2016. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jake Cooper of 18 years, and Russ Thompson of 26 years. Lucille is survived by her 3 children John Cooper, Kathryn Cooper Rodlun, Dana Cooper, along with 8 grandchildren and 14 great grand children. Lucille graduated from OHS then went on to University of Washington where she earned her degree. She was a substitute teacher in the Highline School District in Seattle. She moved back to Olympia in the late 60s then went to work for L&I for 26 years and retired. She loved skiing, riding horses, her friends, roses and gardening. She sewed, played piano, and climbed trees. She was athletic and outgoing, she also spent years with Russ breeding and showing Arabian horses. A special thanks to all that loved her. She will be missed. There will be a funeral service for Lucille on Monday, July 18th, 2016 at Mills and Mills Funeral Home in Tumwater, Wa.
