Marian Leon-Guerrero Blas, age 72, passed away on March 22, 2022 surrounded by her family. Marian is preceded in death by her parents, Mariano and Josefina, and brother, Robert. She grew up as a military brat, but was able to eventually establish roots in San Diego, California and Olympia, Washington. While a lover of crafts, music, Islander culture, gardening and cooking, her greatest pride and joy was her family. She married her husband, Leonard, in 1973 and together they have two children, Gary (married to Lisa) and Tina (married to Patrick). Marian cherished her role of wife and mother, and that elation grew exponentially when she became a Nana to her six grandchildren: Luke, Simeon, Natalie, Jordan, Nolan and Isabella. She was also a beloved sister to JoAnn and David, and Aunt to several nieces and nephews.
She will be missed for her bright smile, infectious laugh, boundless Christmas giving, and quirk of referring to products with the wrong name or label. (Pirate’s Booty will forever be remembered as Booty Pop to her family.) Marian touched many with her heart and generosity and would open her home to any stranger in their time of need. Her family will forever feel blessed to have been surrounded with her presence. She will be greatly missed and will be remembered as a beautiful soul.
A service for Marian will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 812 Bowker Street Southeast, Lacey, Washington.
