05/27/1927 -- 03/15/2012
I want to write a short note to my family and friends. Even though I put up a courageous fight I lost my year long battle with myelodysplasia and leukemia.
Please don’t feel sorry or grieve for me because I have had a wonderful life.
I was born in Gardiner, WA in my grandparents home. I was blessed with out-standing parents, John & Frances Murdock; a special brother Dick; my wonderful husband, Bill, of 60 years; and my dear friend, Ed, who filled a four year void in my life after Bill passed.
Those folks are gone now. But I still have a beautiful, loving sister, Salliann, who also was my garage sale chauffeur. My son, Tom, who gave up a year of his life to come live with me and made this last year so great. He gave me special tenderness, understanding, care and comfort plus great joy with lots of fun and many laughs. Besides Tom and Sally, I leave my grandchildren, Robby (Laurie), Ryan, Matthew (Kellie), and Mary. What a joy all four brought to me. And, of course, there is my daughter, Jeannie (Jack). Last, but not last, my nieces and nephews: Kelly (Mike), Jay, Andy (Claudia) and Karen.
A special thanks to my “cuz’s”, Bill & Janet, Bobby & Maryelen, Cheryl and Bill for their love and especially for keeping my spirits up and fighting. I can’t forget Tip & Ginger for their caring love and many telephone calls. Nor can I forget Tommy Son and his family, my extended loving family.
I want to make a heartfelt thank you to my two fantastic doctors, Dr. Senecal and Dr. Pham and their staff.
You know me, I loved parties. I am extending an invitation for all to join my family for a memorial in my honor to be held at the University Place Senior/Community Center (2534 Grandview Drive West, University Place, WA)
Please remember these words, “Don’t wait for the storm to blow over, learn to dance in the rain”. These words are so powerful. They got me through my storm and I am hoping, if the need arises, they do the same for you.
I thank each and everyone for making my life such a happy one.
Please, send no flowers. If you care to, contributions may be made in my memory to WICS (Widows Information and Counseling Service), mailed to The Cottages At Peach Creek, 7505 57th St Ct W, University Place, WA 98467
