Jane Richardson, 99, passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital, October 10, 2019, in Olympia, Washington. She was born in Aberdeen, Washington on May 24, 1920 to Fred and Ursula Hulbert. Jane attended St. Mary’s Elementary School, Weatherwax High in Aberdeen and Dominican College in San Rafael, CA and graduated from Seattle University. Jane married James Michael Richardson, an army captain from Shamokin, Pennsylvania, after being introduced by her mother at the Elks club in Aberdeen. Jane was involved with St. Mary’s Catholic Church and busy with Jim raising eight children.
Jane will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother (GGJane), and caring friend. She touched all she met with her kindness, compassion, and her sense of humor. She loved a good laugh with friends and family and was a scratch golfer in her earlier years. She and Jim loved the Mariners and after retirement made the drive to the Mariner’s spring training in Arizona for several springs. She loved watching sports with anyone who stopped by and loved to be surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an inspiration and positive influence for all who knew her.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her brothers Fred, Ed, and John and a sister Ann McCauley. She is survived by her sister Laura and Tom Hackstadt, and brother-in-law Frank McCauley, her eight children, Jim, Bill, Mary Evoy, Jack, Laura McIver, Liz Hayden, Tom and Tim, nineteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jane’s life was celebrated in a private graveside service at Calvary Cemetery in Tumwater and afterwards at a gathering of the family at her home.
