Michael Richard Sherrer

Mike Sherrer, beloved husband, father and friend, passed away on September 9, 2026. Born on June 29, 1946, grew up in Florence, OR. Mike lived a life marked by kindness, humor, generosity, and the love of the outdoors.

Mike joined the Marines and was a Vietnam Veteran. Mike devoted much of his career to IBM, working as a systems repair technician until his retirement. In later years, he and his wife Tommy traveled to Yuma, AZ; he enjoyed spending time outdoors and in his woodworking shop.

Mike is survived by his wife Tommy, his children, Angie Sherrer, Michaelross Sherrer, Melissa Montes and Teresa Sherrer, a lot of grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sister Judy Zehrung, who will carry forward his spirit of generosity, humor and the love of the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his dad Ross Sherrer, mom Zona Sherrer, his sister Connie Rusco and his son Joe Williamson.

A celebration of life will be held on April 24, 2027, from 11:30am – 2:30pm at Squaxin Park (Priest Point Park) in Olympia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Veterans of Foreign Wars in Mike’s memory.
