Myrtle C. Berg

Myrtle Caroline(Reitan) Berg born October10, 1920 died January 9,2019. She was 98 years old. Myrtle was born in Powers Lake, North Dakota to Laurie and Marie (Torvik) Reitan and moved with her family to Lacey, Washington when she was 16 years old. She has made her home in Olympia since that time. Mom worked a few different jobs, her last being in housekeeping at Providence Hospital, retiring in 1987.
She is survived by her 5 daughters, Kathy Ries, Linda Grimm (John), Marla Allen (Bill), Vicki Johnson (Dennis), Julie Holford (Will), 4 grandchildern, Jeff Grimm, Jason Grimm, Paula Hetland, and Patrick Johnson. She has 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters, Bud Reitan, Larry Reitan, Roy Reitan, Hazel Griffin, and Berniece Armstrong.
Mom took a cruise to Alaska and enjoyed vacationing in Disneyland with her daughters and grandkids. She loved a good poker game. She was life member of the VFW Post 318 and a member of the Sons of Norway.
A memorial service will be held at Mills & Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Little Rock Road, Thursday, January 17 2019 at 1:30 pm.
