

Nancy was born to Harold S. Harris, M.D. and Ollie (Broach) Harris in St. Louis, Missouri on July 23, 1925. She graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Home Economics. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta social sorority and Phi Upsilon Omicron and Phi Delta Mu, home economics honor societies.
She married William R. Vineyard of Nevada, MO on June 9, 1946 in Troy, Missouri. When Dr. Vineyard graduated from medical school in 1950, he joined the United States Army. Nancy accompanied her husband to Austria, Germany and Japan. His state side assignments included San Francisco, San Antonio, Washington, D.C. and Madigan Army Hospital at Ft. Lewis. Upon his retirement from the Army in 1972 Col and Mrs. Vineyard moved to Olympia.
In 1997 the couple moved to Panorama and following Dr. Vineyard's death, Nancy moved to Bonaventure, Lacey in 2018.
Nancy was a long time member of the Altar Guild at St. John's Church and volunteered at the Thurston County food band for many years. She enjoyed travel, needlework and working crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by two sons, William H. Vineyard and his wife Christine of Clayton, CA and Robert B. Vineyard and his wife Ann of Chino Hills, CA. Six grandchildren; Perry, Diana, Johnny, Rolanda, Nick and Matt, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and her sister Ann Coppens of Pensacola, Florida.
Donations may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church or to the Thurston County food bank both in Olympia.
